Safety
“The management, supervisors, safety committee and employees of Gorman Bros. will endeavor to carry out the Safety Program with the objective of preventing accidents in our plant.”
Gorman Bros. is regularly inspected for safety practices by WorkSafe BC and is recognized as one of the safest mills in British Columbia.
Members of the safety committee regularly walk the plant, instruct employees, record observations, and then assign responsibility for follow-up at regularly scheduled safety meetings. Any urgent or high-risk concerns are dealt with immediately.
Gorman Bros. Woodlands Department operates under a Safety Program that is certified under the BC Forest Safety Council's SAFE Company Initiative. In addition, every Contractor working in Woodlands activities must be certified under one of the BC Forest Safety Council's SAFE programs, and must demonstrate compliance with all WorkSafe BC requirements.
Management's Commitment to Safety:
The management of Gorman Bros. believes that no aspect of its operation is of greater importance than the preservation of our employees' health and safety. Our objective is to prevent accidents in our plant and develop and promote a ‘safety first' attitude.
Each of us has a moral responsibility to prevent accidents by working safely and assisting others to do the same. The members of our Safety Committee are committed to this cause. By working with the committee and our fellow employees to identify potential hazards and proper work procedures, we create a safe working environment.
The management, supervisors, safety committee and employees of Gorman Bros. will endeavor to carry out the Safety Program with the objective of preventing accidents in our plant.
