Close to half of our harvested fibre becomes our finest boards, ideal for residential and commercial construction. On top of that, the trims of finished lumber are collected and remanufactured into finger-jointed boards.
Wood chips are used as raw material to produce high-quality paper and pulp.
Shavings and sawdust are used in animal bedding, as biofuel, or converted into wood pellets -a green, renewable energy source.
Bark is used for landscaping or as a renewable biomass energy in place of fossil fuels.

Value Extraction
From the forest to the finished product, Gorman Bros. Lumber utilizes the latest technology to create The Finest Boards.
Our goal from selecting the tree to producing the finished product is to add value. We do this by:
- choosing high quality fibre
- creating jobs for those who know how to add quality to the product
- continually reinvesting in new technologies
From advances in saws so they cut more precisely, to biometric scanners which grade, sort and reroute logs; we believe in maximizing value extraction. We’ve invested in better drying technology to improve the stability of the boards because we believe in being on the leading edge – the Gorman edge.
